A lawyer who understands today’s nonprofit leadership

Before starting this practice, I served as General Counsel of a major international nonprofit.

I know firsthand how legal questions show up in the middle of real organizational decisions.

I work with nonprofit leaders, counsel, and organizations who want a thoughtful legal partner behind the decisions that shape their work.

That often includes:

Executive directors and founders

who want a trusted legal advisor as their organization grows

In-house attorneys

who value an experienced outside partner for the issues on their plates

Leadership teams

confronting governance questions, compliance concerns, and operational decisions

Organizations ramping up

and wanting to make sure the legal side stays above board

Mission-driven teams

who prefer practical insight and to-the-point advice over long legal memos

Nonprofits

who want an outside legal hub–their institutional memory, legal compass, and steady partner behind important decisions.

I Built this Practice for Nonprofit Leaders.

Before starting my firm, I spent years practicing law in top global law firms and at the U.S. Department of Justice. But the experience that really shaped how I practice today came from serving as General Counsel of an international nonprofit.

Legal questions didn’t arrive neatly labeled as “problems for the lawyer” (well, sometimes they did). Usually, they showed up in the middle of real decisions about programs, people, partnerships, and how to move the mission forward responsibly and effectively.

Being part of the senior leadership team meant understanding the pressures nonprofit leaders face, like balancing impact with risk and making thoughtful decisions with limited time and resources.

That experience truly changed how I think about legal support.

Today, I work alongside nonprofit leaders and in-house counsel as a practical legal partner—someone who can help think through challenges early, simplify complex requirements, and, ultimately, offer guidance that actually works in the real world of nonprofit leadership.

How I Support Nonprofit Leaders

Whether you realize it or not, as a nonprofit leader you make decisions every day that carry legal implications—often without the luxury of slowing down to parse the fine print. My role is to help organizations, their leaders, and their in-house lawyers navigate those moments with practical guidance and consistent partnership.

Whether you’re looking for an ongoing outside general counsel relationship, support on a specific legal issue, or guidance and training for your board or leadership team, I work alongside organizations to provide thoughtful advice that helps them move forward and stay mission-focused.
